Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Archive Equity is a trade name of Slightly Wiser LLC (“Archive Equity,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect through archiveequity.com, our estimate tool, and our emails, calls and texts, and what we do with it.
The short version: we use your answers to estimate what your company’s records could be worth and to find buyers. We may share a profile of your business with prospective buyers and partner platforms to request quotes. We check with you before we share your contact details with any partner. We never share your mobile number or text-message consent for anyone else’s marketing.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers personal information we collect when you visit our website, use the estimate tool, book a call, or talk to us by email, phone or text. It is written for people in the United States.
It does not cover the business records your company may later license through us. Those records are handled under the written agreement you sign before anything is shared, which sets out what is included, how it is de-identified, and who may receive it.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: your first and last name, company name, company website, email address and phone number.
- Answers about your business: number of employees, years of records you can access, industry, the software systems you use, how your team logs its work, how connected your records are, and the kinds of sensitive records you hold (for example, patient information or client tax files). We ask about the kinds of records you hold. The estimate tool does not ask for the records themselves.
- Your text-message choice: whether you agreed to be contacted by text.
- Anything else you tell us on a call, by email or when booking a meeting.
Information collected automatically
- The pages you visit, the date and time, the address of the page that sent you to us, and basic device and browser details.
- Advertising tags in the link you arrived from, such as UTM tags or Meta’s click ID, so we can tell which ads are working.
- Information from cookies and similar technologies, described in section 6.
Information from others
- Our scheduling tool, when you book a call (for example, the time you chose and any notes you add).
- Partner platforms we introduce you to, which may tell us whether the introduction led to a deal so we can follow up and settle any referral fee.
- Public information about your business, such as your website and public company listings.
3. How we use it
- To give you an estimate and explain what drives it.
- To contact you about your estimate and arrange a call.
- To prepare a profile of your business and request quotes and offers from prospective data buyers and partner platforms.
- To represent you in a sale or license, if you sign an agreement with us.
- To introduce you to a partner platform, if you say yes.
- To run, measure and improve our website, estimate tool and advertising.
- To keep records, prevent fraud and misuse, enforce our Terms, and meet legal obligations.
4. When we share it
Your business profile
To get you quotes, we may share a profile of your business with prospective data buyers and partner platforms. The profile describes your company: industry, size, years of records, the systems you use, the kinds of records you hold, and usually your company name and website. If you would rather we keep your company’s name out of early conversations, tell us and we will describe it without naming it.
Your contact details
We do not share your name, email address or phone number with a data buyer or partner platform until you have told us you want that introduction. When we introduce you, we tell you which company it is.
Referral fees
Some partner platforms pay us a referral fee when a company we introduce completes a deal with them. If you sign an agreement for us to represent you, any fee you pay us is set out in that agreement.
Service providers
We use companies that help us run the business, such as website hosting, email and office software, spreadsheet and workflow tools, scheduling, phone and text-message services, analytics and advertising platforms. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
Legal reasons and business changes
We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, sale of assets, financing or similar transaction. In that case, we would require the other company to handle your information in line with this policy.
What we do not do
We do not sell your contact details to data brokers or list sellers, and we do not share them with anyone for that company’s own marketing without your permission.
5. Text messages
If you tick the box to receive texts, we will text you about your estimate and next steps. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not required to get an estimate or work with us.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are excluded from every category of sharing in this policy and will not be shared with any third party, except service providers that send messages on our behalf.
6. Cookies, pixels and ads
Our website may use cookies, pixels and similar tools, including tools from advertising platforms such as Meta, to remember settings, count visits, measure which ads lead to estimates, and show our ads to people likely to be interested. These providers may collect information about your visit and use it under their own privacy policies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and adjust ad preferences in your Meta and Google account settings. Our website does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
7. How long we keep it
We keep information about people who request an estimate for up to three years after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. If we represent your company in a deal, we keep the related records for as long as the agreement requires and for up to seven years afterwards for tax, legal and accounting purposes.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. No website or email system is completely secure. Please do not send passwords, logins, or actual records (such as patient or client files) through our website or by email. If a deal moves forward, we will arrange a secure process for that.
9. Your choices and requests
- Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email us.
- Texts: reply STOP to any text.
- Introductions: you can say no to any introduction, and you can ask us to stop sharing your business profile at any time.
- Access, correction and deletion: you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@archiveequity.com. We may need to verify your identity first, and we may keep information the law requires us to keep.
Some states give residents specific privacy rights. Where those laws apply to us, we will honor requests as they require, and we will not treat you differently for making one. We aim to respond within 45 days.
10. Children
Our website and services are for businesses and the people who run them. They are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above, and if a change is significant, we will tell you by email or with a notice on our website before it takes effect.
